Is the hall big enough for a bouncy castle? Yes, the ceiling is 4 metres high and the hall has a big footprint 11mx15m and bouncy castles are often hired. If you hire a bouncy castle we will need a copy of the firms insurance certificate.

Can I put up decorations? You may use blu-tak to put up decorations, but no sellotape, pins or glue. Glitter and biodegradable glitter, as well as balloons with glitter/discs inside are not permitted due to the difficulty in cleaning up.

Can I come and set up before my booking? If you need extra time to set up/decorate and tidy up afterwards you must include this in your total booking time. You will not have access to the building before your booking time. if you need extra time and have already booked, please contact the Booking Manager who will check availability and send a revised invoice.

Do you book teenage parties? Sorry, we don’t book the hall out for parties aged 15-20 due to issues around supervision, security and damage caused.

Do you book the hall for dog training? Yes we do, but you must provide a suitable floor covering and clean any accidents thoroughly with hot soapy water and a mop.

How do I make a booking? Please use the booking enquiry form to tell us what date(s) you are looking for, what kind of booking it is (birthday party, sports training, meeting). And if you are a group, please tell us as much as possible you. We will check availability and send a booking form.

How do I pay my hire fee? When we receive a completed booking form, an invoice will be sent to you and this will be due for payment no later than 2 weeks before the event. Your invoice will give you the details needed for making a bacs payment. We do not receive cash or cheque payments.

Is the kitchen available to book on its own for teaching or personal cooking? Yes, you would not have access to the hall, but might share the toilet facilities if the hall is in use. Please make a booking enquiry to find out more. Where appropriate please make sure you are observing food safety, health and hygiene legislation.

Can I hold a play, play live music, or play a film? We don’t have a licence live performances, but you can obtain a Temporary Events Licence (Tens) from the Vale of White Horse District Council

Do you have a bar? We don’t have a bar or licence for serving alcohol, but you can obtain a Temporary Events Licence (Tens) from the Vale of White Horse District Council

How is safeguarding handled with lettable venues? Any individual wishing to hire the hall, church or chapel are required to sign that that they are complying with our Safeguarding Policy during the period of their hire. This applies to any booking which involves children, AND any adult who may be vulnerable through health, financial, or domestic circumstances. All groups, organizations and businesses are required to have their own Safeguarding Policy and this should address not only children, but any adult who may be vulnerable through health, financial or domestic circumstances.
